Q: Do you have Insurance covering our existing home during the “ construction period “?

A: It is always best to discuss this with your current home Insurer as policy coverage will differ from Insurer to Insurer. McMahon Builders have several Policies in place, therefore offering significant & sufficient cover ranging from Home Owner Warranty Insurance, Public Liability, Contractors all Risk Insurance.

Q: Can We live in our existing home throughout the “construction period “?

A: In most cases the answer is Yes. As each Extension/Renovation is different with no 2 projects the same, the team at McMahon Builders will visit the site to complete various inspections, hazard checks & discuss your requirements etc. This will determine whether in fact you & your family will be required to “ move out “ at any stage throughout the period of Construction.

Q: Are You able to arrange our Plans, Permits & Insurance?

A: Yes. McMahon can arrange all required Plans, Permits, Engineering and Insurance Policies for your project. We work closely with the Draftsman of either your choice or ours throughout the design process, informing you and offering suggestions to either save you money or in turn enhance the finished product. We also use local building surveyors, engineers ( if required ) preparing all required permit applications & furthermore submit on your behalf. We also deal direct with Local Council regarding Planning Permits ( if required ) on your behalf.

Q: Are We able to make changes to our selections after commencement of works has started?

A: Definitely Yes, changes can be made so long as the proposed change is not a major “structural change “ . With the majority of selections being made prior to “ commencement “, items such as tiles, carpets, colors, door furniture, doors, joinery can all be re selected/changed throughout the construction period with minimal time delays.

Q: Are We able to meet with you at any stage?

A: Yes. We make ourselves approachable, flexible & willing to meet with our clients & in most cases are only a phone call away. We can arrange a suitable time to both meet with & discuss any items “ on site “ throughout the construction period. We also conduct site meetings with our clients throughout the build process & regular progress updates.
